El trazado de la antigua carretera de A Lanzada reseguía el arenal de la playa, dibujando un brazo de asfalto que atravesaba sin reparos el frágil ecosistema de las dunas. La recuperación ambiental de la playa y del sistema dunar adyacente diseñó un nuevo trazado, más alejado del litoral. Tramos de asfalto quedan así abandonados y olvidados por el hombre, pero no por la naturaleza, que los reconquista de nuevo. El asfalto se rompe, las raíces se extienden por el subsuelo y buscan fisuras, la luz. Con el tiempo el asfalto es conquistado por las especies pioneras y se desintegra. En algunas zonas, se pueden ver aún estos tramos de vía en desuso.
